Attendance Area Elementary School- There are four attendance area elementary schools. All four are located in Verona: Country View Elementary, Sugar Creek Elementary, Glacier Edge Elementary and Stoner Prairie Elementary. Core Knowledge Charter School (CKCS)* - CKCS is a K-8 charter school. CKCS is located in a wing of Badger Ridge Middle School in Verona located at 300 Richard St. The school emphasizes the Core Knowledge sequence and Direct Instruction.
New Century School (NCS)* - New Century School is a K-5 Charter school that is located at 400 N Main St. The school utilizes multi-age classrooms and emphasizes a thematic, environmentally-integrated curriculum which includes a focus on STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Two Way Immersion (TWI) Program* - TWI offers dual language education for students to develop language proficiency in both Spanish and English. Students will learn 50% of their academic content in Spanish and 50% in English. TWI is currently located at both Glacier Edge Elementary and Sugar Creek Elementary for K-5 and Badger Ridge Middle School for 6-8th grade. TWI is available to students from Spanish speaking homes in grades K-11th, depending on space availability.
Verona Area International School (VAIS)* - VAIS is a K-5 charter school that is located at 400 N Main St. The school is a Mandarin-immersion program, where students learn half-days in Chinese-Mandarin and half-days in English. Aspects of VAIS's curriculum focus on the global community.
*Indicates that a limited number of spaces are available. When space is limited, students are selected by lottery with the following demographic preferences considered: siblings attending, and students that have parents as charter/choice school employees. If you are interested in one of these options you MUST apply. Students not selected will be placed at their attendance area school, but will also be placed on a waiting list until 5 business days before the first day of school.
